Tony's Pastries

Tony Holden of Tony’s Pastries is a pastry chef and chocolatier extraordinaire! Area residents are fortunate indeed to have such a superb confectioner as a regular vendor at the Marché Moncton Market on Saturdays. His sumptuous, mouth-watering pastry delights are world class, and Tony himself brings impeccable credentials to his craft. A wide array of tasty morsels include tarts, cheese cakes, mousse cups, meringues, and squares in such tempting flavours as fresh fruit, chocolate, strawberry, passion fruit, and creme brulé just to name but a few of the five star offerings.

Originally from Newfoundland, Tony trained as a chef at a pastry school in his home province. Cooking since age 16, he credits his mom, who was an excellent cook, as his inspiration. Over the years, he has worked across Canada at various five star establishments including Jasper’s famous resort. Tony has worked under the tutelage of many famous European chefs and today, some thirty years since he first began in the food industry, he is an independent entrepreneur with a wholesale business that caters to area restaurants and hotels. His weekly stint at the market is his "fun" job and one he truly loves. An easygoing, friendly man who enjoys people, Tony’s laid back manner belies the true genius that lives within. A star in his own right, his delicacies have been served to an impressive list of celebrities including Prince Charles and the late Lady Diana, Bill Gates, a Japanese premier, Billy Joel, and Christie Brinkley. Not one to rest on his laurels, he regularly takes part in demonstrations and workshops and is recently back from Newfoundland where he did a demonstration in wedding cakes featuring chocolate and sugar work.
