The Birdman

Dwayne Biggar, aka "The Birdman," deals in real estate for birds! He has one of the most interesting displays of his talent and the goods he produces at the Marché Moncton Market on Westmorland Street. Works of art in their own right, his bird houses are made from rough-hewn wood, some with the bark still on for that rustic look. Using wood from branches and tree trunks, cedar, and wire mesh, he fashions feeders and houses adorned with accents from nature - twigs, driftwood, mosses, and lichens, as well as metal touches with tin or copper roofing. Designed to look weathered with time, lovely birdhouses and feeders are not only durable in standing up to the weather, but they make attractive additions for the garden all year round as well, serving the more practical purpose of providing food and shelter for our feathered friends.
Also a gifted artist, Dwayne’s wood-carved renderings of area birds are beautiful, realistic, and much sought after. A resident of Edgett's Landing, he lives close to one of the Maritimes’ most beautiful natural settings, a haven for birds and rich in wildlife. Taking his cue from nature, Dwayne, also a skilled metalworker, fashions unique birdbaths of extraordinary beauty. More utilitarian metal pieces such as hangers for feeders and houses, suet cages, and shepherd hooks for the garden are available at surprisingly affordable prices. Are you a nature lover? Dwayne’s unique offerings are a must for the avian enthusiast! Call Dwayne at 734-2489 or visit him Saturday mornings at the Market - you’ll find his display is really all "for the birds!"
